Grant-purpose: Provide support material, supplies and motivation to under served target group of youth in the community. Promote health and well being to target group through printed material. As well as, seasonal or event specific give-a-way items as incentives for participation.

What-is-project: Association promotes multiple events throughout the year based on needs of the target community to be served. Example – back-to-school backpacks and supplies, seasonal give-a-ways, food, healthy fun activities, printed educational based information. This project request will subsidize the purchase of materials and supplies, as well as the distribution of health and education related information which has become even more vital because of the COVID-19 pandemic’s interruption to the normal mental, emotional, physical and financial well-being of the target group families.
How-will-you-succeed: These are annual programs where number of participates may vary as needs of the target groups change. Success is measured by actual number of program participants and elements of the program events availability. Program is communicated through the distribution of newsletters, social media, meeting updates and word of mouth.
Who-are-you: The College Square Neighborhood Association is a Diverse North Long Beach 9th District neighborhood. The Mission is to be a united neighborhood to build a better community. The Neighborhood Association Partnership Affiliate Program was created to build positive collaborative partnerships between our neighborhood, local businesses and the community.
College Square Neighborhood Association has actively partnered with like-minded and focused organizations or groups to meet specific needs of the community where gaps may exist and as needs are identified for more than 5 years. We have sponsored and promoted back-to-school fun and fitness events which also included healthy food, holiday give-a-way events and activities, provide educational updates that relates to environmental, health and safety concerns effecting the community.
The association relies heavily upon the generosity of neighbors and sponsorships from community, corporate partners and well-wishers to finance events, activities and other expense needs.
