The Fennie Community Fund was designated in 1988 through an estate gift from Jack L. Fennie.
LBCF’s Board of Directors will review applications for the Fennie Community Fund annually. Priority will be given to funding projects and programs that align with LBCF’s strategic grant focus as defined by the LBCF Board.
Grants are awarded for broad and general charitable purposes with a preference to children’s organizations in the communities of Avalon and Long Beach. The 2020 LBCF strategic grant focuses on funding programs that address the educational needs of youth suffering from homelessness or youth at risk of becoming homeless. Grants can be made across the spectrum to address this issue – from preventative measures to direct services. Organizations and/or service providers who address one or more of these needs in Avalon or Long Beach are encouraged to apply.
HOW TO APPLY?
The below online application process for the Fennie Community Fund requires completion of the application and required attachments. Successful candidates whose application is highly aligned with the grant purpose may be asked to submit additional information or schedule an interview. Submissions are due no later than 5 pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
Grants will be awarded based on the program qualifications outlined in the submission and selected by the Board-appointed Grants Selection Committee. The Committee will review the submitted applications, select successful candidates, and make recommendations for funding appropriate projects. The expected announcement of awards will be made in August 2020.
Grants will be awarded between $5,000 and $10,000.
Any application questions can be addressed by contacting the Long Beach Community Foundation at email@example.com.
