Designated in 1988 through an estate gift from Jack L. Fennie, the Fennie Community Fund awards grants for broad and general charitable purposes with a preference to children’s organizations in the communities of Avalon and Long Beach.
LBCF’s Board of Directors will review applications for the Fennie Community Fund annually. Priority will be given to fund projects and programs that align with LBCF’s strategic grant focus as defined by the LBCF Board. The current LBCF strategic grant focus addresses housing and homelessness, and grants can be made across the spectrum to address these issues – from preventative measures, to direct service, to sustaining precariously housed individuals and families. Organizations and/or service providers who address one or more of these needs in Avalon or Long Beach are encouraged to apply.
HOW TO APPLY?
The online application process for the Fennie Community Fund requires completion of the online Letter of Intent (below) with required attachments. Successful candidates whose Letter of Intent is highly aligned with the grant purpose may be asked to submit additional information or schedule an interview. Submissions are due no later than 5 pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
Grants will be awarded based on the program qualifications outlined in the submission and selected by the Board-appointed Grants Selection Committee. The Committee will review submitted Letters of Intent, select successful candidates and make recommendations for funding appropriate projects. Expected announcement of awards will be made in August 2020.
Grants will be awarded between $5,000 and $10,000.
