1. What disaster recovery service have already been provided? : Since the start of the pandemic, we have continued delivering meals to all our home-delivered meals clients, including those in Long Beach, while observing the Los Angeles County mandated social distancing guidelines.
2. What disaster recovery service will be provided by this grant? : This grant will allow us to continue to deliver meals to our home-delivered meals clients in Long Beach. This service takes care of a critical need for seniors who are unable to visit grocery stores due to disabilities or fear of contracting the virus. We are also ensuring seniors are able to secure meals despite the current shortage of non-perishable foods at local stores. Additionally, our delivery staff are helping preserve our seniors’ mental health and well-being by providing a reassuring visit from a friendly face that can help provide comfort and a sense of normalcy during this stressful and mentally-taxing time.
