Question1: Elite Skills had not performed any household canvassing. Specific details are outlined in detail regarding our COVID and vaccine related outreach and education efforts.

Question2: Elite Skills hosted the City’s first Mobile COVID Vaccination Clinic at St Mark Baptist Church on February 10th & March 3, which provided 200 vaccinations. ESD has assisted with the planning of 5 additional mobile clinics, (Church One, MLK Park, MacArthur Park, Black Health Community Fair and Black Community Health & Vaccine Fair

Question3: Over 6,000 LB residents, and or workers, have been connected to vaccine awareness through the distribution of the Healthy Living Guide, flyers, outreach efforts and COVID related videos

Question4: Elite Skills has directly scheduled 300 vaccine appointments through the City and State networks

Question5: Elite Skills assisted two mental health providers to secure CARES Act funding that provided free counseling to 60 individuals/families with 10 counseling sessions.

Question6: Elite Skills created and distributed 4,000 Healthy Living Guides, and created 8 culturally tailored videos to mitigate risk, transmission, and the spread of COVID-19 to Long Beach Black residents. Additionally, we created and distributed over 800 copies of educational materials, including a vaccine After Care flyer distributed at two clinics, information flyers and two COVID education brochures.


Finally, Sharon Digs-Jackson has been an active participant in the City’s Vaccine Equity & Outreach Subcommittee and provided great assistnce in regards to outreach within the Black & African American community. This includes assisting in planning three African American focused vaccination clinics and creating culturally affirming handouts and materials.

Question7: Two rounds of registrations, over 350, calls were required for the Feb. 10 & March 3 vaccination clinics, the registrations were scheduled over the phone by Elite Skills staff.

Question8: Elite Skills assisted with the development of 5 COVID-19 webinars. The webinars audience totaled approximately 500 viewers

Question9: More than 50% of those who registered for the February mobile clinic were hesitant about the vaccine and the mobile clinic. The clinic was focused on African American seniors and many had first hand knowledge of medical inequity, past abuses and fear over the misinformation surrounding the vaccine, and long term impacts. Based upon the questions and concerns expressed during the phone registrations we understood that many of our seniors were reluctant and scared. The partnership and support from the Minister’s Alliance was crucial, as they are trusted community members and they were had a calming effect on the clinic attendees. All of the registered seniors, except 5, attended the first dose clinic and chose to be vaccinated. Everyone of the clinic attendees received their 2nd dose at either our March 3rd clinic or from their personal physician.

Question12: Training was provided for 25 volunteers who assisted with the mobile vaccination clinics. The volunteers included 15 pastors/ministers from the LB Minister’s Alliance, who assisted with the clinic outreach, and provided assistance to clinic attendees.

Question13: If awarded, we will distribute the 4,000 Healthy Living Guides, which include an section on COVID and vaccine awareness.
