National Philanthropy Day Fund
The Long Beach Community Foundation (LBCF) annually selects a nonprofit to be the beneficiary of its National Philanthropy Day project. It is LBCF’s goal to work in partnership with the awarded nonprofit to provide project funding, volunteers, and the needed resources to provide a one-day facelift. This is part of the larger national initiative that is celebrated each fall.

Past beneficiaries of these efforts have included:
–2021 – Long Beach Organic – LBCF Staff, Board Members, and community volunteers planted an accessible garden
. — 2020 – Un Mundo de Amigos Preschool (exterior mural) LBCF Staff and muralists pictured above
— Young Horizons Preschool (50-foot external mural painting and additional cosmetic upgrades to building entry)
— Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach (community garden installation)
— Precious Lamb Preschool (playground and consultation room renovation)
— Long Beach Rescue Mission’s Lydia House for women (outdoor living space renovation)
— Mental Health America Long Beach Wellness Center (exterior paint, landscaping, and updated signage)
